FastDirectories is a useful utility, intended for fast access to the directories in the standard open/save dialog windows. It is used when you need to open/save any file at any disk or just get access to some directory quickly.
The program adds a button for dropping down the list of specified directories at the top of the standard open/save dialog windows. It is possible to add the necessary directories to the list and then choose any of them from any standard open/save dialog window very quickly without long browsing a directories tree. The necessary directory can be accessed within a second now.
Clicking on this quick button, it is possible to open the form for setting the program options up. These are: adding, deleting and modifying folders for fast access, setting tray icon, etc.
Below is the list of main functions the program realizes:
1) Fast access to directories in the standard open/save dialog windows;
2) Creation of the list of directories for fast access: adding, deleting, modifying and sorting them out;
3) Autoload the program upon Windows start up;
4) Setting tray icon in the taskbar;
5) Setting up a position of the button in the toolbar of a standard open/save dialog window.
Earlier, in order to enter the "deep" catalog, it would be necessary to click the mouse button or the keyboard keys several times depending on how deeply the directory is. But now, this utility allows one to get access to the catalog after pressing the mouse button two times only (first click for dropping down the linear list of "favourite" directories and second click for choosing the necessary directory).
The utility is extremely useful while working with a great number of folders, which are placed at different places of the computer disks and getting a very quick method for access the necessary directories.
