AnywhereTS_Config is a configuration tool for Thinstation thin clients. It will allow you to customize and deploy thin clients completely from within a Windows environment. In less than 5 minutes you will be able to setup a complete thin clients solution on your server with fast, free clients that boot from the server or from local CD.
The thin client operating system is most often loaded over the network when the client PC is turned on, using PXE network technology.
If you do not have PXE enabled network cards, you can either install new network cards that support PXE network booting, or boot from a floppy or CD-R disc instead.
ts-config is built as a Windows wizard and runs on all Windows machines. All configuration operations and input is made in a fully graphical native Windows user interface. There is no need for learing any command line tools. In fact, in ts-config, there are none.
ts-config will guide you through the different settings, leaving you with either a system for network booting, or a boot floppy or CD-R as approriate.
ts-config can also create a standalone CD-R version. This version will not boot from the network, as everything is contained on the CD-R disc.
You can create any number of thin clients with ts-config. However, ts-config can only maintain one set of configurations at a time, and it is preferable, but not necessary, if your client machines' hardware is the same (for sound, network cards, graphics cards etc). You also have the option to include all drivers in the configuration, and let the client autodetect which hardware is present at boot time. This normally works well even though it may lengthen the boot time somewhat.
