Silicon Slate Software is computer lab and desktop management software for k-12 school computer labs and classrooms. Silicon Slate Software consists of the Silicon Slate Manager program that is used for communicating with and managing the Silicon Slate Desktop programs that you install on the workstations in your lab or class. There is also a Portable version of the Desktop program that runs from USB flash drives for use away from school.
Silicon Slate Desktop is for the workstations in your lab or class. With it your students can launch programs from buttons that you set up. The Silicon Slate Desktop's program launch buttons on all workstations can be changed for different classes or situation from the Manager program. Students using workstations running the Silicon Slate Desktop program are able to take quizzes and work on files that you send to the workstations hard drive or the students USB flash drive. The Silicon Slate Desktop program can be made to run full screen and the exit and setup buttons can be disabled, these features are controlled remotely from the Manager program.
The Silicon Slate Manager program is used for communicating with and managing the workstations in your lab or class that are running the Silicon Slate Desktop Program. You can create Quizzes that you give in class or Assignments that your students take home on their USB flash drives and complete using the Silicon Slate Portable Program. From the Manager program you can send pop up messages to the Desktop programs screen, class notes and files to your students USB flash drives or web page addresses that automatically load web pages on the workstations. You can create and save program launch button templates for different classes and use those templates to remotely change the program launch buttons on the workstations.
The Silicon Slate Portable program runs from your students USB flash drive and has many of the features of the Desktop program.
