His Grepship is a visual grep tool running under Win32, finding search expressions in text and HTML files. What sets it apart are: 1) Global find and replace on PC or network. Optionally confirm each replacement, and/or roll back changes afterwards. This operation is UNIX-smart, i.e it will maintain UNIX line-endings 2) Output is color-coded, so that the found and replaced expressions stand out against the surrounding text. These colors are configurable 3) It can search for straight text, or UNIX-style regular expressions 4) Can search multiple unrelated directories, and all their subdirectories 5) Has its own built-in editor. Double-clicking an output line will activate this editor to open the relevant file, locate the line and highlight the search expression, ready for editing 6) May be associated with certain 3rd-party text editors, to achieve the same effect, i.e. open the file, find the clicked line and place the cursor on the expression. Currently these editors are Vim, Lemmy, MKS vi, TextPad and WinEdit. More will be added later 7) His Grepship comes with a comprehensive Help, with text expansion and a glossary to explain unfamiliar terms. Every window has a Help button that will open a Help page specific to that window. There is a tutorial browse sequence for new users. A fuller description, along with screen shots, can be seen on the His Nerdship web site (www.hisnerdship.com). His Grepship may be downloaded on a 30-day trial basis. Once registered, the user may download all future versions at no extra cost. Also, the DLLs to associate His Grepship with 3rd- party editors are free.
