DBFView is a Windows9x/NT/2000/XP application that allows you to view, edit, print, and export dbf-format files. In contrast to many DOS analogues, DBFView provides a user-friendly graphic interface, allowing you to perform a variety of dbf management functions by a single mouse click. A toolbar, context menus, and Excel-like data table make working with databases simple and hassle free.
DBFView supports a great number of dbf formats (dBASE, FoxPro, Clipper, Visual FoxPro) and all basic dbf-specific operations. You can add, delete, recall, sort, zap, pack records, view and edit files in DOS or Windows character sets, get detailed database information, and search in a base. Most important parts of DBFView code are written in Assembler, therefore the operations perform quickly and the .exe file is very small. DBFView also uses its own database access tools and does not require external drivers for connection to databases (such as ODBC or BDE) or additional libraries. Based on this engine, DBFView can handle files of any size and even huge ones open in a moment.
To prevent an accidental data changing, there are two main modes in DBFView - the view and edit mode. DBFView also lets you set an administrative password to lock the edit mode and ensure that the data will not be modified without you.
DBFView offers enhanced export features. The base contents can be saved as html or text file with user-defined delimiters and separators, deleted records, and memo fields.
